Something For Real, Kiefer’s first live album, was conceived as a project without rules – “three friends playing for each other, for fun. With friends, for friends. Something for real!”
Kiefer‘s Kiefer Trio, featuring frequent collaborators Luke Titus and Pera Krstajic, come together on the live album Something For Real, recorded from a performance in Los Angeles in April 2023. Kiefer chose not to tell Luke and Pera that the show was being recorded, capturing a natural electricity between the three and giving the performance “a spark that can only exist when the art is organic and simple.” The live album includes one new song, title track “Something For Real,” along with originals from Kiefer’s catalogue and a stirring rendition of Bobby Hutcherson’s “Montara”.
