VINYL BACKORDER – Est. ship date late-April 2021
Usually the only person to remix Madlib records is Madlib. But following the success of MF DOOM & Madlib's album Madvillainy in 2004, our partners in Europe proposed having producers not normally associated with MF or Madlib to remix some of the tracks for Europe-only vinyl releases, and the Four Tet Remixes were born.
Play: Madvillain "Great Day (Four Tet Remix)"
10 tracks: Five remixes, four remix instrumentals, and one bonus beat. Track #5, “Rhinestone Cowboy,” is true collaboration: a remix MF DOOM himself did based on a snippet of one of the other Four Tet beats.
The record has two covers, the "comic cover" (exclusive to Stones Throw) with illustration by James Reitano, and the "8-bit cover" illustrated by Chris Hund, both designed by Jeff Jank. The vinyl comes with immediate digital download.
